Description from the recording
Early Thursday morning, two Miami Police officers were shot while responding to what began as a routine call near NW 14th Avenue and 26th Street. In seconds, it turned into chaos. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Mason Triana, opened fire, hitting one officer in the knee and another in the ankle.
Dozens of rounds followed. Officers scrambled for cover as backup flooded the area. The neighborhood was locked down, sirens echoing through the streets as police surrounded Triana’s home. He later barricaded himself inside and was found dead after a tense standoff.
Authorities say Triana’s brother, Alan, was later arrested and faces multiple charges, including tampering with evidence and possession of armor-piercing ammunition.
Both injured officers are expected to recover. Miami Police say it’s a miracle no one else was hurt.
What started as another morning in the city became a battle zone — a reminder that every call could be life or death.
